Turning a Year of Growth into a Story Worth Sharing

Sage Ridge School is one of Northern Nevada’s leading independent schools, serving students through a rigorous, well-rounded educational experience rooted in academic excellence, character development, and community connection.

For the 2024–2025 school year, Sage Ridge needed an Impact Report that did more than summarize accomplishments. They needed a polished, meaningful piece that could celebrate the school’s progress, recognize donor and community support, and clearly communicate the value of a Sage Ridge education.

Ace Studios partnered with Sage Ridge School to bring that story to life.

The Challenge

Annual reports and impact reports can easily become dense, data-heavy documents that feel more like required reading than a reflection of a school’s mission. Sage Ridge had important stories to tell: student achievements, enrollment growth, community engagement, donor impact, and the continued expansion of opportunities for students.

The challenge was to organize that information into a report that felt elevated, easy to navigate, and emotionally connected to the people who make Sage Ridge special.

The final piece needed to speak to multiple audiences, including current families, prospective families, donors, alumni, faculty, and community partners.

Our Approach

Ace Studios worked with Sage Ridge to shape the Impact Report into a clear, compelling, and visually engaging publication.

Our team focused on creating a report that balanced strong storytelling with clean design. We helped organize the content into a more digestible structure, highlighting the school’s milestones, community impact, and forward momentum in a way that felt intentional and easy to scan.

The design direction reflected Sage Ridge’s brand while giving the report a polished editorial feel. Through thoughtful layout, visual hierarchy, photography, and branded design elements, we created a finished piece that felt both professional and personal.

What We Created

Ace Studios supported the development of the 2024–2025 Impact Report through:

Content organization and narrative flow
We helped structure the report so readers could easily move through the school’s key accomplishments, donor recognition, student-centered stories, and major institutional updates.

Copy refinement and messaging support
We shaped the language to feel clear, warm, and mission-aligned while keeping the report focused and accessible.

Editorial-style design and layout
Our team designed a polished report that elevated the school’s story through strong page composition, visual rhythm, and clear information hierarchy.

Brand consistency
The report was designed to feel aligned with Sage Ridge School’s existing brand while giving the piece its own distinct, high-impact presence.

Final production support
We prepared the report for final use across digital and/or print formats, ensuring the finished piece could serve as a long-term communications asset.

The Result

The completed 2024–2025 Impact Report gave Sage Ridge School a refined, professional tool to celebrate its year and communicate its impact with confidence.

Rather than serving as a simple recap, the report became a storytelling piece that reflects the school’s mission, honors its community, and reinforces the value of investing in a Sage Ridge education.

For families, it showcases the strength of the student experience. For donors and community partners, it demonstrates the meaningful outcomes of their support. For the school, it provides a polished brand asset that can be used to build trust, deepen engagement, and support future enrollment and advancement efforts.

The Project

Ace Studios partnered with the Reno Wind Symphony (RWS) to create a dynamic video series capturing the essence of their preparation for the start of a new season. The Reno Wind Symphony, a celebrated ensemble of professional and semi-professional musicians, is dedicated to preserving and performing wind band music at the highest level.

Our team documented behind-the-scenes moments, offering a glimpse into the rehearsals, artistry, and dedication that bring the RWS’s performances to life. These videos highlight the musicians’ passion and teamwork, serving as a compelling promotional tool to build excitement for the season ahead.

The project not only elevated the RWS’s online presence but also strengthened their connection with the local community and music enthusiasts. Through this series, we demonstrated Ace Studios’ ability to craft visually engaging narratives that showcase the heart and soul of our clients’ work.

Brochure Design

Client: AKT Development Corporation | Location: El Dorado Hills, CA
Service: Print Design + Brand Messaging

The Challenge

Le Capitán, a new luxury housing development in El Dorado Hills, CA, needed a high-end marketing piece that reflected the elegance of the property and its stunning natural surroundings. With a goal to attract serious homebuyers and investors, the client required a brochure that would:

  • Showcase available lots with clarity

  • Feature compelling imagery that captures the area’s beauty

  • Offer a seamless digital transition for inquiries via QR code

  • Incorporate the nickname “Heaven” that the area is known for

Our Solution

Ace Studios designed a premium closed gate fold brochure that unfolded to reveal a breathtaking aerial view of the community and nearby Folsom Lake. This cinematic reveal was anchored by the tagline:
“Some call it Heaven. You can call it home.”
—a nod to El Dorado Hills’ nickname and the emotional allure of settling in such a scenic locale.

Each inner panel featured lot availability in a clean, intuitive layout, making it easy for potential buyers to explore their options. A custom QR code on the back panel directed interested parties to a streamlined online interest form, bridging the gap between print and digital effortlessly.

Results

  • Enhanced Engagement: Prospective buyers responded positively to the elevated design and imagery, with many noting the tagline and layout as “memorable” and “aspirational.”

  • Ease of Use: The QR code feature increased online form submissions, allowing Le Capitan’s team to gather qualified leads efficiently.

  • Brand Alignment: The brochure’s elegant tone and visuals aligned perfectly with the luxury brand identity the client aimed to build.

South Lake Tahoe Cancer League

Client Overview

South Lake Tahoe Cancer League (SLTCL) was a volunteer‐powered nonprofit that served residents of the Lake Tahoe basin from 1980 to 2026. SLTCL provided transportation to treatment, monthly financial stipends, and a compassionate community network for local cancer patients.

Project Objectives

  • Brand Cohesion: Develop a unified visual identity that reflects SLTCL’s core values of compassion, community, and hope.
  • Enhanced Digital Experience: Modernize the website—improving mobile responsiveness, site navigation, and accessibility.
  • Streamlined Conversions: Simplify the processes for applying for support, signing up to volunteer, and making donations.

Challenges

  • Fragmented Identity: SLTCL’s existing logo and color palette felt dated and inconsistent across print and digital collateral.

  • Outdated Website Experience: The old site lacked clear calls to action, wasn’t fully mobile-optimized, and presented lengthy, multi‐step forms that discouraged submissions.

  • Low Conversion Rates: Complex application workflows led to drop-off at critical stages for assistance requests and donations.

Our Approach

1. Discovery & Strategy

  • Held interviews with key stakeholders to understand SLTCL’s mission and user needs.
  • Audited the existing brand assets and website analytics to identify pain points in user journeys for “Apply for Assistance,” “Volunteer,” and “Donate.”

2. Brand Refresh

  • Logo & Iconography: Introduced a friendly, stylized bear icon enclosed by the organization’s name—symbolizing local strength and togetherness.
  • Color Palette: Defined four core colors to convey vitality, warmth, and professionalism.
  • Typography: Chose Arboria for headlines (bold, approachable) and Halcom for body text (clean, highly legible).

3. Website Redesign & Development

  • Mobile-First, Responsive Layouts: Wireframed key pages to ensure intuitive navigation and legibility on all screen sizes.
  • Streamlined Forms: Consolidated multi-step assistance, volunteer, and donation forms into single-page experiences using Gravity Forms—reducing drop-off by simplifying required fields.
  • Clear Calls to Action: Prominent “Donate,” “Apply for Assistance,” and “Get Involved” buttons placed throughout, guiding users seamlessly from discovery to action.
  • Accessibility & Performance: Ensured WCAG-compliant color contrast, semantic HTML, and optimized image delivery for fast load times.
  • CMS Integration: Powered by WordPress for easy content updates, with custom templates to enforce brand consistency.

Looking Ahead

With SLTCL’s new brand and website, the organization is better positioned to grow its volunteer base, deepen donor relationships, and—most importantly—bring compassion and practical support to more cancer patients across the Tahoe basin.
