THE PROJECT

Pink Sonoma Rosé Fest, formerly known as Pink Sonoma Saturday, is a fun rosé-themed event hosted in Sonoma Valley, CA by Out in the Vineyard (OITV), and LGBTQ+ experiential wine company that hosts events throughout the year for the community to come together and enjoy the best wines from the valley in an inclusive atmosphere.

This event in particular focuses in rosé wine from the valley and brings together over two dozen wineries, along with delicious bites from local vendors – all wrapped in pink, which they strongly encourage guests to wear throughout the event. Not only is it great fun, but a portion of the proceeds of the event go toward benefiting Positive Images, a non-profit that helps LGBTQ+ youth in the area.

For this project, OITV approached Ace Studios with the need to do a brand refresh of the event, with the issue being that the old name was tied to a particular day of the week and they needed the ability to branch out a little and better explain what the event is.

Our team came up with a variety of new naming options, before we landed on Pink Sonoma Rosê Fest, highlighting that this is an actual festival for folks to come and enjoy.

We also came up with a fun and whimsical new logo as well to match the spirit of the festival, and the client couldn’t be happier!

Northern Nevada Legal Aid

The Organization

Northern Nevada Legal Aid is a nonprofit legal aid organization serving qualified residents in Washoe and surrounding rural northern Nevada counties. Legal aid is free or low-cost advice, assistance, or representation in civil matters for those who could not otherwise afford an attorney. Its goal is to eliminate barriers to access to the legal system for our society’s most vulnerable members to protect their rights, keep them safe and provide stability. It also provides legal system efficiencies by decreasing self-represented litigants.

They came to Ace Studios needing help with rebranding their entity. After 50+ years of operating in Washoe County, they needed to communicate that they are available to help anyone in Northern Nevada, but their brand and website didn’t reflect this message.

Ace Studios needed to achieve the following to measure success:

  1. Design and develop a new website in WordPress.
  2. Make sure the website is meets WCAG and ADA compliance.
  3. Collaborate with key stakeholders to come up with a new name for the brand.

The team at Ace Studios was able to deliver on those goals and more.

Nevadans for Equal Rights

The Project

Nevadans for Equal Rights is a continuation of the push for equal right under the Equal Rights Amendment.

26 states already have state-level ERAs. If Question 1 receives a majority YES vote during the November 8, 2022 Election, Nevada will be next on that list by adding an inclusive, intersectional, ERA to our constitution that protects everyone’s rights under the law.

Ace Studios had the honor of helping brand the movement so that it would be eye-catching, look great on apparel and swag items, and follow be able to be flexibly used.

We’re proud of our work on this project and know it will make an impact!

Mikalee Byerman

The Client

Mikalee Byerman is a nationally-renowned author, copywriter, blogger, public speaker, and humor strategist that works with individuals and companies from all walks of life to improve their way of thinking and doing from a human-centered approach.

She came to Ace Studios needing help as she was leaving a steady job (we’ve been there before) and going out on her own to start this next chapter. She needed a website that perfectly bottled up all of her passions, and services to help reach her audiences.

Ace Studios needed to achieve the following to measure success:

  1. Design and develop a new website in WordPress AND migrate over her existing WordPress blog posts and audience with over 3,000 subscribers (the pressure!).
  2. Set up a new Blog & email list and integrate a subscription form within the website for some handy dandy newsletter building at conferences she’d be speaking at.
  3. Incorporate updated photography (with pineapples)
  4. Create a new logo design
  5. Make it mobile-friendly!

Challenges

  • Delicantly migrating over the WordPress audienct from he old blog to the new platform and making sure the readers would still be in sync with new posts from the new website

Ellen for WCSD Campaign

The Client

Ellen Minetto was a sitting member of the Washoe County School board that was up for re-election to a second term in 2022. She is also a former colleague of our CEO, Kurt Thigpen, and worked with him on the school board.

As a former school teacher, you couldn’t say she was a politician or an expert at marketing. She just knew how to talk to parents and students.

So, Ace Studios was tapped to help with her re-election campaign and we were happy to help a strong advocate for public education!

Challenges

  • Ellen was very behind on fundraising, had no social media profiles, and even lacked a website to let people get to know her
  • Her opponent had been out already for months getting her name out there
  • Assembling a team of key players

Solutions Provided

  • Branding to be used for all aspects of campaign materials
  • A searchable website where voters can come and find out about Ellen
  • Claiming & updating her Ballotpedia listing
  • Capturing professional photos and videos to make her likeable and get the message out there

While Ellen wasn’t able to secure a second term, we delivered great results in getting out the vote on her behalf.
